Williams and Dame

Brand Strategy

Portland is embarking on the largest urban redevelopment project in the United States. The investment is enormous – the coordinated efforts of several private and government organizations is critical for success.

Williams & Dame commissioned us to craft the argument and presentation for this development to local and national constituents. In doing so, we addressed head-on, critical issues facing Portland. We built a context for a city in transition, needing to make bold decisions in order to re-establish Portland as a national leader in urban planning and sustainable economic development. It was the first step in framing the discussion in order to build momentum and trust.

Ground broke at South Waterfront in the late fall of 2003. This success lead to a comprehensive marketing plan designed to endow the new neighborhood with the energy needed to draw the entire city community into the new neighborhood.
